The scientific evidence:
Allah (SWT) wanted to conclude His Messages with the Message of His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him); therefore, he provided him with such miracles and proofs as He had not provided any of the Prophets and Messengers preceding him with, for his mission is intended for all humanity at all times. Thus we have the immortal Miracle of the Holy Qur’an till the Day of Resurrection.
The Qur’an is the Miracle of all ages; it addresses people at all times according to the knowledge available to them. When the camel was the means of transportation, it drew people’s attention to it to ponder on what was around them. Allah (SWT) said: “Will they not ponder on the camels and how they are created?” (LXXXVIII: 17)
It also addresses the modern scientists who have made great discoveries and who exert themselves through long tiring journeys in pursuit of facts. They accumulate pieces of knowledge one upon another till they have a complete vision of a certain fact. Behold, the same fact is found in the Qur’an, expressed clearly by the most precise and sublime expressions. Allah (SWT) says: “And say: ‘Praise be to Allah, Who will soon show you His Signs, so that you shall know them.’ And your Lord in not unmindful of all that you do.” (XXVII: 53) Allah (SWT) also says: “We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and in their own souls, until it becomes quite clear to them that it is the truth.” (XLI: 53) The Holy Qur’an is a Great Miracle said by the Lord of the worlds; the Universe is a lesser Miracle created by the Most Merciful.[1]
There is no discrepancy between the written Book of Allah and His visible witnessed universe. The unbiased mind and the sound fitrah lead to belief in the Lord of the universe, the Manager of the affairs of creation and their Cherisher, the Only One worthy to be worshipped and Who has no partners. The verses that call for pondering and reflecting outnumber those dealing with worship, dealings and rulings.
“The Holy Qur’an in many of its verses is a dialogue and logical scientific argument with those who do not believe in Allah, the Hereafter and the Revelation. One of the methods of calling others to Islam is to adopt the Qur’anic scientific logical argumentation through hundreds of miraculous scientific proofs that had preceded the descriptive sciences by several centuries. It is these proofs that provide the addressee’s mind with the proof of belief that may later penetrate his conscience, whereupon he may abide by its norms and teachings.”[2] The scientific proof in the Qur’an is a concrete uncontroversial proof that should not be ignored by the caller to Islam, for it is one of the strongest proofs in our present age. It is the tangible witnessed Miracle that has no ambiguity.
The famous scientist Professor Oliver Windil says: “The more progress sciences achieve the narrower the gap of difference between them and religion gets, for appropriate understanding of sciences increases belief in Allah.”[3]
It is supposed that all the workshops and laboratories of research today confirm the Oneness of Allah, for the deeper you delve into science, the greater your faith in the Oneness of Allah. What does not materialize this supposition is the separation of religion from science in all its fields. |
