The appearance of two different versions of the Torah:

The Samaritans refused to acknowledge the system set up by Ezra and others. The controversy between them and the Hebrews aggravated so that the Samaritans separated, keeping their own Torah that contained only the Five Books.

The Hebrews say: “We are right,” while the Samaritans say: “We alone are right. You have corrupted, altered, added to and deducted from Allah’s Book.” The Samaritans also claim that the Hebraic Torah was written by Ezra.[1] The authenticity of the attribution of both versions of the Torah to Moses is doubtful. The Jews themselves suspect it. There is a third version, i.e. the Greek one that is the authorized and acceptable version to the Catholic and Orthodox Christians, while the Hebraic version is acceptable to the Jews and the Protestant Scholars. The Samaritan version is acceptable to the Samaritan Jews.

If we compare the three versions we find great difference, which is a strong proof of corruption. Comparing the number of books acknowledged by each of the three parties, we find the following:

Hebraic Version

Greek Version

Samaritan Version

39 Books. Any other Books are not regarded Holy.

More than the Hebraic Version by seven    Books.

It includes only the Five

Books of Moses. They may add the Book of Joshua Only. All other Books are not Holy.

See this great difference among the versions of the same book. Everyone claims that his version is revealed by Allah Almighty and claims that his Book is the authentic one and all other versions are invalid, without being able to present the decisive unquestionable evidence to support and verify his claim.[2]
