The penalty for adultery:

 

“An adulterer is not punished alone but his children and grand children shall be punished also: “A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.”[1] It is a collective penalty but by inheritance.”[2]
