None of the Prophets brought the Doctrine of Trinity: None of the Prophets (peace be upon them) prior to or after Jesus brought such a doctrine. On the contrary, all of them came with one doctrine concerning Allah (SWT); namely, Allah in One and has no partners or associates. None of them said other than that, and none of them mentioned anything about trinity. How can it be credible that Allah (SWT) concealed this supposedly Significant Truth from all the Prophets to say He is the Only One God? Why did He not tell them that he is three in one? Why did he not illustrate that to them, bearing in mind that the persons of the Trinity are all sempiternal existing before sending the Prophets? Allah, the Father, is sempiternal; Allah, the Son, is sempiternal; and Allah, the Holy Spirit, is sempiternal, too. Why is it that Jesus only came with this doctrine? How can Jesus (peace be upon him) disagree with all the Prophets and it was he who said: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”[1] How can he say this and then comes to destroy and undermine the origin and foundation of all doctrines that were brought by all the Messengers and Prophets, the pivot of whose mission was monotheism (There is no god but Allah Alone without a partner)? Consequently, either Jesus invented this doctrine—which is impossible for a Prophet to do—or the doctrine was purposefully added to the original heavenly doctrine that Jesus (peace be upon him) came with. We call all Christians to reconsider the Doctrine of Trinity, for to worship Allah knowingly and perceptively, one should understand his doctrine.
“If the Doctrine of Trinity were truly the basis of belief in Allah (SWT) in Christianity, and if Jesus Christ really said: ‘Baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit’ meaning thereby the belief of the Church that Allah is one in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, why then does Matthew only, to the exclusion of all the other authors of the gospels, mention this notion, which was the basis of faith from the beginning?”[2] They had written things that were less important and less valuable than the Doctrine of Trinity. Had they not heard this from Christ? Or did they betray Christ and not transmit his saying? Or did Christ not say that?
Sub-section Six: Modern Christian Monotheistic Movements:
Recently there have developed Christian monotheistic movements that reject the Doctrine of Trinity and the divinity of Christ and declare that Allah is One and not multiple. They insist one resorting to the intellect and sound logic in matters of religion. This represents a return to the thought of early Christians and those who succeeded them, who had disappeared as a result of their being persecuted by the Church. In America, for instance, there developed a monotheistic movement whose leaders advocate moderation and the adoption of sound thinking. It confirms the Oneness of the Creator and the acceptance of the Holy Scripture provided that it is interpreted logically. In 1825 AD they instituted what they called the “American Monotheistic Society”. By the end of the nineteenth century, the Society adopted the policy of tolerance and recognized that religions other than Christianity had truths also. In 1961 AD the Society united with the World American Church to carry the name “The World Monotheistic Society”, which rejects the doctrines bequeathed by the Churches and confirms the oneness of the Creator, the humanness of Christ, the responsibility of people for their deeds, and the possibility of securing salvation not just through the Christian religion but through other religions, too.”[3] |
