The Qur’an, the Torah and the Gospel Compared:

The Qur’an

The Torah

The Gospel

Allah guaranteed preserving it. Allah (SWT) says: “Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian.” (XV: 9)

Allah charged the Jews with preserving it. Allah (SWT) says: “for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's book.” (V: 44)

Allah charged Christians with preserving it. Allah (SWT) says: “for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's book.” (V: 44)

The Companions wrote it during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

It had been already written in the Tablets in the time of Moses (peace be upon him).

It was not written in the time of Jesus (peace be upon him). It was written about 35 years after he was raised to Heaven.

Allah (SWT) provided the Arabs of that time with such a strong memory that they were able to learn by heart what they heard only once.

Only a little of it was committed to memory.

The Disciples memorized the teachings of Jesus but did not write them down.

Today millions of Muslims memorize it despite its large size.

None memorizes it because Moses (peace be upon him) refused to give it to the Israelites and gave it to the Levites for fear of corrupting it.[1]

None memorizes it despite its small size.

Muhammad (peace be upon him) died after he and his Companions had accomplished victory, which made it possible to publicize, write, memorize and teach the Qur’an.

Moses (peace be upon him) died while his followers were lost in the desert.

Jesus (peace be upon him) died while his followers were being persecuted, killed and burned; therefore, his Disciples could not disseminate the Gospel and its teachings.

All the manuscripts of the Qur’an are identical.

The manuscripts are not identical.

There are no two identical manuscripts; all of them are contradictory.

The chains of narrators through which the Qur’an is learned and memorized are continuous up to Allah (SWT).

There is no continuous chain of narrators. One thousand years was between Ezra, who rewrote the Torah, and Moses.

There is no continuous chain of narrators, for many of the scribes of he Gospel did not hear from Christ and did not tell whence they had received their information.

The language of the Qur’an is Arabic, the language Muhammad (peace be upon him) spoke. Allah (SWT) says: “We have made it a Qur’an in Arabic.” (XLII: 2)

The language of the Torah is not that of Moses (peace be upon him) although it is Hebrew because there was a period of one thousand years between Moses and Ezra, which is enough time to change the language drastically.

The oldest manuscript of the Gospel was written in Greek, whereas Jesus spoke Aramaic.

The Torah was burned at the time of Nebuchadnezzar on 588 B.C. (II Kings: 24-25) when all the Levites who learned the Torah by heart had been killed.

The Gospel was approved as a Holy Book in the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD by a resolution taken by the Roman heathen Emperor.

Ezra rewrote the Torah piecing it together from here and there in 538 B.C.

The writing of the oldest Gospel had started only in 61 AD, and the result was that they “neglected a portion of what they were reminded of.” (V: 13)

The original Torah of Moses was small in size; therefore, Moses (peace be upon him) told the Prophet Joshua to write it on the wall of the temple.[2] Today the Torah consists of 30 books; namely, many times the original Torah of Moses (peace be upon him).
